If it can’t find the master folder the sync is ended and nothing in your cloud is changed. MEGAsync only deletes files and sub-folders inside an active master sync folder. Setting up new syncs would then instruct MEGAsync to ‘download’ the files missing from your new computer. So in your example if your laptop was no longer available (all files on it gone) and you then set up MEGAsync as a new installation, all previous folder syncs would have ended all files previously synced to your cloud would still be in your cloud. This would happen also if you had set up a sync folder on a removable/network drive. If you shut down MEGAsync, deleted the folder and restarted MEGAsync, MEGAsync would simply untick that folder from its list of sync folders (as it couldn’t find it) and leave the cloud stored folder untouched. If for example Music is a folder you sync with your cloud, while MEGAsync is running it will stop you from simply deleting that folder (it will be locked). The exception are master sync folders (the ones you set up). ![]() The same is true of sub-folders of master sync folders. If you delete or add files on one side they will be deleted from or added to the other. So it will always ensure the latest folder update is used to update the other side, whether that is your computer or cloud. ![]() That means if something ever happened to laptop and my desktop folder was no more, wouldn't this also delete the files in MEGA drive, meaning that this online backup would be useless? I guess what I am asking is, what is the best way to create an online backup of a folder that you are steadily adding content to, that updates automatically using MEGA? ![]() The problem is, whenever I remove anything from this folder, or if the folder itself was moved, im pretty sure this would empty my MEGA drive storage. I would like this folder to automatically update in my MEGA drive when I add new music to the folder on my desktop, and that appears to be working without an issue. I uploaded these files via MEGASync, and routed the sync to my desktop (as this where I save my music). Hello, I recently started using to MEGA to provide myself with a backup of all my DJ music so if something ever happened to my laptop or usb, I would still have these files saved online.
